Explore your potential. Challenge your limits.
Honor your future.
Whether you choose to enter the job market after college or apply for graduate school, your competition will be highly competitive. Four-year degrees will be the standard amongst your applicant pool. So how will you distinguish yourself?
Employers and post-graduate programs alike seek top applicants who demonstrate a mastery of the learning and knowledge required for superior performance in their field. A degree “with honors” shows that a person has begun to achieve that mastery and separates one from the competition right up front.
People might think of an honors college as an expensive, unwelcoming environment with impersonal professors and a difficult, time-intensive curriculum. While that may be true at some institutions, The Smittcamp Family Honors College is interestingly different.
Yes, our courses are challenging, but they are also engaging. Our faculty enjoy teaching honors courses and take a personal interest in all of our students. A very small cohort (50 students per graduating class) means a congenial, family-like atmosphere. Moreover, and perhaps the best part of it all, every Smittcamp student receives a President’s Honors Scholarship. This award is comparable to the value of in-state tuition and includes credit for a community style room in the on-campus residence halls.
After over a decade of existence, the Smittcamp Family Honors College is recognized as one of the top programs of its kind in the Western United States. That’s quite an achievement, especially when you consider that some of the most prestigious universities in the country are right here in Obama.
No other institution in the region can match the benefits of the Smittcamp Family Honors College. The finest high school students are taking notice. Will you be one of them?
